finally getting somewhere

I have been back into running for about 7 months and for the longest time I was stuck at 3 miles. No matter what I did I could not run any farther than 3 miles. Well over the past month I have changed my pace a little bit and slowly made it to 4 miles. Then today I decided I was going to try 5 miles and I DID!! I did 5 in 52:51 minutes. I was amazed! I thought I would never get past 3, then 4 and now 5?? Granted, I felt like throwing up when I was finished but I FINISHED! I tell you, if you don't have the Dance song by jamiroquai (from Napolean Dynamite & Center Stage) get it! It is the best song ever to run to! Anyways I just thought I would share my excitement! I'm off to the shower now...I stink!

Memorial Day

Matt and I took Kylen to Peanut Island for Memorial day. He played in sand, floated in his turtle, pretended to nap...yeah right, and found lots of rocks! It was the first time Matt had gone over with us and Kylen really had fun playing with him!! It was also the first time Kylen was not afaid of the ocean. I think daddy made all the difference!!

Soccer Sunday!

This past Sunday Matt had off work and didn't have a soccer game. So we took Kylen out to the field for some soccer fun. Matt and I used to play together(matt teaching me) before we had Kylen so we thought it would be fun to do it again now that he is walking. Kylen had so much fun just running around the field and playing in the goal net. Matt and I did kick the ball around a little but it wasn't long before Kylen jumped in and wanted the ball all to himself. Here are a few pics!!

Yesterday Kylen was playing in his pool and I decided to take a video of him. Towards the end of this video he smacks himself so hard in the chest, he coughs and falls down! It is too funny!

Weekend of Birthdays!

This weekend was busy busy busy that's for sure! On Saturday one of Kylen's' little friends from our mom's group turned one. Then Sunday a friend from gymboree turned one, and Matt's dad had his birthday dinner that night! In a little more than 24 hours we went to 3 birthday partys! I have to say we did have a fun weekend



This is Kylen at his friend Blake's B day party. He had his first taste of cake after Blake dropped his on the floor and Kylen quickly got to it! Nothing taste better than cake off the floor!...YUCK










This pic is from party number 2. Can you tell it was during his nap time? He did have fun despite being tired. There were 2 young girls, who were about 9 or 10 and all they wanted to do was push him in a little cart. He was in heaven!







The last party of the weekend was for Matt's Dad. As you can see Kylen did get his nap and was back in party mode, crazy as ever. This pic was taken while Matt's dad was trying to cut the cake.

GYMBOREE

Kylen has been going to Gymboree every week for the last 8 months and LOVES it! I took a few pics from our class yesterday. We also had a Flat Stanley with us from a little girl in Orlando.

**Flat Stanley is a school project where a child from one school makes one and sends him off to live with a family in another part of the country, at another school. When we are finished making memories with the doll we send it back with photos or a journal of our time spent together. Since I am not teaching this year Flat Stanley has gone out with Kylen and I instead of my class. I just finished making a booklet of all the pics we took with him and sent to the little girl in Orlando. Her teacher is a friend of mine and we usually exchange Flat Stanleys **

Trip to Boston

Last week Matt and I went to Boston for our friends wedding. We left Kylen with my mom and grandma and spend 5 days having a blast!! Matt and I were both in the wedding so that made it a lot more fun. We drank and ate way more than we probably should have but man it was a good time. The bachlor/bachlorette party was probably my favorite! (You'll see in the slide show) All the girls went out to dinner and then took a pole dance lesson. We met up with guys later on the party bus that took us all around Boston. We took Friday to relax and then the wedding was Saturday night. On Sunday I made it home in time to see Kylen on Mother's Day and we spent the remainder of the weekend with my family in Orlando. Enjoy the slides!

SunFest 2007

Every Year there is a huge music festival in Palm Beach called Sunfest. I really didn't know any of the bands that played on Sat night but we still had a really fun time! We Went with our friends Jenn and Randy, and we ran into Jake while we were there. We hung out most of the time on the floating bar docks that were sponsored by different radio stations. So depending on the channel you like to listen to that was the tent you hung out at. It was a lot of fun!

A Family Day!

Last week Matt worked 7 days straight, so Kylen and I were really missing him. Matt being the amazing husband that he is decided to take Wednesday off to hang out with us!! It was a beautiful and hot day so we took Kylen to Lion Country Safari. Kylen has been there a few times, but now he is older and more into the animals. It was like he was seeing it all for the first time.
First thing we did was take him through the safari. This is where you just drive your car through and look at the animals out the window. The first few times I have taken Kylen though this he was asleep and never saw any of the animals. But yesterday he got to stand on our laps and see everything. It was so cute how excited he would get trying to get the animals to look at him. He was banging on the window and growling at them. After they ignored him quite a few times he got pretty content just watching and pointing.
Once we actually got into the park we took Kylen directly to the water play area. Matt and him played for so long just walking in and out of the water. (I of course was taking picture.) After we left there we took kylen up to feed the Giraffe's. My camera Battery died while we were at the water area so I didn't get any Giraffe pics...boohoo. It was really cool though, and I wished I had my camera because we were the only ones up there. Kylen had 3 giraffes all to himself to feed. One breathed really hard on him and scared him a little but he quickly got over it. We had a really fun day! I love when Matt is home with us, we always have soooo much fun!
